NASA Cygnus cargo rocket explodes on launch for ISS

epa04467954 A handout picture made available by NASA on 29 October 2014 shows the Orbital Sciences Corporation Antares rocket, with the Cygnus spacecraft onboard suffering catastrophic anomaly moments after its launch from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Pad 0A, at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, USA, 28 October 2014. The Cygnus spacecraft was filled with about 5,000 pounds of supplies slated for the International Space Station, including science experiments, experiment hardware, spare parts, and crew provisions. NASA tweeted on its International Space Station feed that there had been an ‘accident 6 seconds after liftoff.’ There were no injuries, the US space agency said.
